Take the next step toward your big dreams with Minnesota United’s Academy, a high-quality development program that provides an integrated pathway to Minnesota United’s second and first teams. 

MNUFC is hosting open try-outs for its 2026-27 U15, U16, and U18 Academy teams this summer, open to the most competitive, talented, and committed players born between 2009 and 2013. 

MNUFC’s three Academy teams compete in MLS NEXT alongside other competitive sides in two divisions, consisting of MLS affiliates and other elite youth clubs. The path is engineered to develop pro-level soccer players and make the highest level of youth soccer competition accessible in Minnesota, all in an effort to promote the beautiful game that brings us all together. 

“Our club really values the open try-outs. We continue to find very good players in this process that go under our radar throughout the year,” said Head of Development and Player Pathway Amos Magee. “With so many leagues in the marketplace and high school soccer still a great avenue for development, having committed, ambitious soccer players all in one place to observe is very valuable for MNUFC. We’re excited again to host this gathering of elite soccer players at our facility in Blaine.”

The registration cost for try-outs is $120, but participation in the Academy is completely free, as the club will cover travel, uniform, training, and league fees for players selected to join the MNUFC Academy teams. Players who aren’t quite ready for the Academy but have the potential for significant growth may also be selected for additional training sessions as part of the MNUFC Pre-Academy program.

Following registration, participants will receive check-in and field information five to seven days prior to try-outs. Players should plan on attending all four days of the try-out, or as many days as possible. The schedule is as follows:
