Minnesota United FC is set to celebrate its 10 seasons in Major League Soccer on Wednesday, Aug. 19 when the club welcomes Atlanta United FC to Allianz Field, in a match presented by Allianz, for the first time ever since both clubs joined the league in 2017. Atlanta United was the first team the Loons hosted in the club’s MLS history back on March 12, 2017 at TCF Bank Stadium. A commemorative 10-year celebration poster, courtesy of Allianz, will be distributed to 15,000 fans as they exit the stadium following the match.

In addition to the special gameday activities inside Allianz Field, the club will host the Sun Country Airlines Pre-Party on the Great Lawn. There, MNUFC alumni in attendance will meet fans, sign autographs and take photos from 5:45-6:30 p.m. CT. Additionally, a photo wall, presented by Target, will feature a sequin version of the 2026 10-year anniversary Loon mural alongside imagery of MNUFC jerseys from the past 10 seasons. An artistic Free Farmers Market-themed 2D chalk installation, sponsored by Allianz, will also be on display as a perfect backdrop for fans to take photos. Fans will be able to pose for a live shot with the chalk installation for a chance to be featured on the main video board inside the Allianz Field.

The following MNUFC alumni are confirmed to attend the match on Wednesday, Aug. 19 to help celebrate a decade in Major League Soccer:

Throughout the match, fans in attendance will experience several in-game elements that showcase the club’s last 10 seasons in MLS as well as the previous 50 years of soccer in the state of Minnesota. MNUFC will proudly recognize alumni from past Minnesota soccer teams on the field in a pregame ceremony, following warmups. During halftime, the club will recognize the Team of the Decade, presented by Allianz, where honorees will be presented with a custom gift to commemorate their selection to the Team of the Decade. 

Minnesota United’s Team of the Decade, voted upon by MNUFC fans, presented by Allianz, includes players that have made key contributions to the club’s MLS history. The team, announced earlier this season, features several current MNUFC players, including: defenders Michael Boxall and Anthony Markanich, midfielders Wil Trapp and Joaquín Pereyra and attacker Bongokuhkle Hlongwane, as well as former goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair, defenders Romain Métanire, Ike Opara and Bakaye Dibassy, midfielders Osvaldo Alonso, Robin Lod, Emanuel Reynoso, Hassani Dotson and Darwin Quintero, and forwards Tani Oluwaseyi and Christian Ramirez.

The club will also recognize MLS Apple TV broadcasters and the team’s broadcasters from 2017-23, Kyndra de St. Aubin and Callum Williams, who will be calling the game versus Atlanta United. Lastly, MNUFC and Allianz will team up in rounding up gameday concession purchases from fans throughout the match to support Keystone Community Services, with the funds benefitting the local Midway neighborhood.
