Preparing for the 2027-2028 STM Renewal Period

The 2027-28 MLS campaign is going to be one for the history books: A Sprint Season, a globally aligned competition calendar, new annual rivalries, and a whole lot more, as Major League Soccer prepares for a monumental inflection point in its history.

With all of these exciting developments on the horizon, your membership package is going to look a little different than in previous seasons. To help make sure you’re prepared for the upcoming STM renewal period, we've compiled a number of key details on this page.

Read on to learn more about the structure of your 2027-28 membership package, the new season formats, your benefits package, and other important information you’ll want to know as part of the renewal period.

Key Dates

June 23 at 10 am CT: The renewal period begins. You will receive an email with full details regarding your 2027-2028 membership.

July 24 at Noon CT: The window to make any changes to your 2027-2028 membership closes. If you do not take any action, your membership will be automatically renewed. If you would like to make any changes to your 2027-2028 membership, please fill out the necessary form in your Offers tab on your SeatGeek account by this date.

August 1: The first charge of your 16-month payment plan will be processed for your 2027-2028 membership on this date, unless you choose to manually opt out before the July 24 deadline.

Week of September 8: The relocation and add-on process begins. All STMs will receive an email with a specific window during which they can relocate and/or add-on seats. If you would like to stay in the same location, you can simply ignore this email.

October: STM Gift Selection begins. You will receive an email with details about how to choose your STM gifts for the 2027-2028 season.

Your 2027-2028 Membership Structure

With the 2027 MLS Sprint Season transitioning quickly into the 2027-2028 MLS season, next year’s membership will include more games than usual. Here are some of the high-level details about the structure of your 2027-2028 Season Ticket Membership:

Your 2027-2028 Season Ticket Membership will include a total of 25 games, 7 games as part of the Sprint Season, 17 games as part of the 2027-2028 MLS Regular Season, and one bonus MNUFC game.

Your payment plan will be spread across 16 months, beginning in August of 2026 and ending in November of 2027.

With this new structure, you’ll be paying for ~1.56 games per month (25 games / 16 months), just slightly more than your current structure of 1.5 games per month (18 games / 12 months).

The extended format will be a one-time adjustment to align with the new MLS schedule.

Your 2027-2028 Member Pricing

The price map below shows the price ranges for 2027-28 Season Ticket Memberships by seating section. To find your specific package cost, reference your 2027-28 invoice in your SeatGeek Offers Tab. As usual, your total cost will be divided into 16 equal, interest-free payments, automatically charged at the beginning of each month, from August of 2026 through November of 2027.

2027 Sprint Season Details

ICYMI, MLS has released official details about how the 2027 Sprint Season will work. You can read the full article here, or see our cliff notes below:

The Sprint Season will include 14 regular-season games, 7 home and 7 away.

The current conference format will remain in place. All 14 games will be played in-conference, one game against each conference opponent.

The regular season will begin in February and end in April, with the 2027 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs occurring in May.

Eight teams in each conference will qualify for the playoffs, with a single-elimination playoff bracket (no Wild Card games or best-of-three First Round series).

An MLS Cup champion will be crowned, and the results of the Sprint Season will count toward qualification for Concacaf Champions Cup and Leagues Cup.

2027-2028 MLS Season Details

After a brief summer break, MLS will return in July to begin a full 34-game season under the new summer-to-spring competition calendar. You can find a number of fully confirmed details about the new format here, along with additional details specific to STMs here.

While many of the specifics have yet to be officially announced, we do know that beginning in 2027–2028, every club will be guaranteed to host every other MLS team at least once every two seasons. We also know that we will host exciting new rivalry matchups, including against Chicago Fire and FC Cincinnati, along with longstanding favorites.

More details about the 2027-2028 MLS Regular Season are expected to be released in the coming months. Here’s the cliff notes version of what to expect for the 2027-2028 MLS Regular Season:

34 games played between mid-July and end of April, 17 home and 17 away

Two-month league-wide break between mid-December and mid-February

Audi MLS Cup Playoffs in May

New rivalry matchups hosted at Allianz Field, including showdowns with Chicago Fire and FC Cincinnati, along with longstanding favorites

Opportunity to host every MLS team at least every other year
Increased flexibility in start times, including more afternoon start times during cold-weather months

The number of home games each month will remain relatively similar to the 2026 competition calendar

How to Renew

As in years past, all STMs will be scheduled for automatic renewal, with the first of your 16 interest-free monthly payments scheduled to process on August 1, using the credit card we currently have on file for you.

If you want to make any changes to your account or membership, such as adding or dropping seats, transferring seats, or opting out, you'll be able to indicate that via the form linked in your Offers tab, as long as you submit any changes before the deadline of July 24 at Noon CST.

Renewal FAQ

Can I renew for just the Sprint Season or the 2027-2028 MLS Season?
No, 2027-2028 Season Ticket Memberships include both the 2027 Sprint Season and the full 2027-2028 MLS Season.

Why did you go with a 16-month payment plan?
A 16-month payment plan allows us to spread out the cost of 25 games in a way that is roughly equivalent to the current structure (25/16 = ~1.56 games per month, which is just slightly above 18/12 = 1.5 games per month). It also sets us up for the future renewal timeline for the 2028-2029 season and beyond.

When will I begin paying my new monthly fee?
August 1, 2026

Can I add-on or relocate my seats?
Yes. As always, STMs will have the first opportunity to move into any available inventory during the relocation and add-on process, which will occur the week of September 8, 2026. If you’re interested in relocating your seats or adding more seats to your membership, you’ll be to indicate your interest in doing so when the renewal process opens on June 23.

When/how will my monthly payments change if I relocate, add on, or make other changes?
If you choose to relocate and/or add more seats during the Relocation and Add-On Process in September, your monthly payments will automatically update to reflect the difference in cost between your previous seats and your new ones, beginning with your October 1 payment.
